Felt acoustic panels – inspiration from realizations in offices

Acoustic panels for the wall in the implementation of the interior

Office noise is something known to every interior architect and, ultimately, every user of such a space. Everything seems great – designer furniture, open space, modern lighting – and yet all it takes is a few phone calls, a meeting in a conference room, or the sound of a coffee machine for work comfort to drop to nearly zero. Reverberation and echo are problems that can ruin even the best-designed interior.

That is exactly why we are going to discuss the role of felt acoustic panels here. This is a solution that combines functionality with aesthetics, because felt panels dampen noise, soundproof the room, improve speech intelligibility, and, at the same time, become a decorative element of the office. What’s more, you can match felt panels to any style – from minimalist conference rooms and bustling open spaces to cozy private offices and recording studios.

In this article, you will read about inspirations from projects where office acoustic panels and felt panels for conference rooms transformed the space, not only in terms of acoustics but also its visual character. You will see that a well-chosen acoustic panel for a studio or office can be more than just a practical addition – it can actually become the showcase piece of the entire project.

Open space – the battle against background noiseAcoustic ceiling with sound absorbing panels

In open offices, the biggest challenge is the chatter of conversations and the typing sounds of keyboards. In one of our projects for a large IT company, we implemented the SilentScape system above the workstations along with felt dividers between computer desks. Suspended acoustic islands not only absorbed the reverberation but also added a modern accent to the ceiling. Employees could speak more quietly, and the space became calmer and more conducive to focus.

Public buildings – quietness that builds comfort

Libraries – here, silence is essential. Felt panels on the walls and ceilings ensure that even in large reading rooms, one can speak in a whisper and be perfectly heard.
Theaters and community centers – in spaces filled with emotions and sounds, PET panels improve acoustics, ensuring every audience member enjoys the performance smoothly and comfortably. In medical offices, examination rooms, and hallways, they dampen the noise that normally burdens patients and staff on a daily basis. As a result, the medical space becomes friendlier and promotes recovery.

Conference room – a large space Acoustic panel on the ceiling in a modern conference room interior project

Every architect knows that a poorly designed conference room quickly becomes a source of frustration. Echo and muffled vocals mean that even the best presentation loses its purpose. Even when the audience group is small, the problem only amplifies. In one of our projects, we used TileFlex felt panels arranged in a geometric pattern on the wall in front of the speaker. Thanks to this, meetings stopped sounding like conversations in a tunnel, and the wall itself became an elegant backdrop for the room. This demonstrates how conference room acoustic panels can easily change the perception of an entire interior.

Private office and meeting zone

Smaller spaces, such as private offices, are often acoustically challenging because voices can bounce off bare walls, turning conversations into a combination of frustration and a lack of privacy. In such a private office, we would opt for TileScratch—panels with an artistic character. Their structure absorbed the echo while also adding prestige to the interior. The room is small, so the cost of the panels won’t be high either, and the final effect is sure to surprise the client.

Recording studio – sound control Acoustic equipment for a podcast office

In a recording studio, every detail matters. Such a studio acoustic panel must be not only effective but also aesthetic, as it frequently appears in the background of video recordings.

Importantly, felt not only improves acoustics but also offers wide design possibilities – it can be formed into various shapes, color-matched, and used to create original compositions on walls. This is a simple way to let even the most demanding client see that the interior is tailored to their needs and brand.

If you are wondering how many acoustic panels you need in an office, conference room, or home, we have prepared a separate guide where we show step-by-step how to estimate the surface area and select the right solutions. Acoustic office equipment, acoustic ceiling, and felt panels on the wall

A real-life example: the KSM office in Nowy Targ.

In the project for the KSM office in Nowy Targ, we used felt panels on both the walls and ceilings. Thanks to this, the space stopped being a place where every speaker tries to shout over one another. The view of walls covered with felt modules and a ceiling equipped with SilentScape elements is also an aesthetic plus. The interior gained character, stopped being just a small talk room, and became a place where people want to spend time and that functions efficiently.

An example from the Remax Duo office – modern branding and acoustics Acoustic additions to office interiors

In the Remax office in Nowy Targ, we applied PET felt in multiple places: from standard wall panels in rooms and hallways, through custom furniture, lamps, and felt wall lettering in the open space and conference room, all the way to ceiling islands and baffles with custom shapes integrated with LED lighting. Thanks to this, the office gained a modern character, with each element simultaneously fulfilling both an aesthetic and acoustic function. Reverberation was significantly reduced, and Remax can boast an interior that attracts clients with its uniqueness.

Office noise, echo in a conference room, unpleasant reverberation in a recording studio – these are challenges that every architect and designer knows all too well. But as the described projects have shown, felt acoustic panels are something more than functional “soundproofing”. They are a tool that allows you to give interiors character, make a brand stand out, and improve working comfort at every level.

Think for a moment about your recent projects. How many of them in practice sounded as good as they looked? How many times were designer furniture and modern lighting simply not enough because echo and reverberation “ruined” the users’ comfort?

Felt acoustic panels demonstrate that details matter. They can transform an open space into a focus-friendly area, a conference room into a space where every presentation resonates with the audience, and a private office or recording studio into a truly professional work environment. It is an element that gives an interior character and highlights the client’s brand.

Imagine designing an office where every sound is under control, and every detail, from the ceiling to the walls, aligns with the aesthetic vision. Sounds like a challenge?

And the best part? The possibilities are nearly limitless. You can shape, color, and combine felt into custom patterns. So that the interior becomes both functional and visually attractive. This is exactly where the secret lies for projects that catch the eye and… the ear.
